Get Involved at our Church!
“Alone we can do so little; TOGETHER we can do SO MUCH!” – Helen Keller
“10 Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor].” – 1 Peter 4:10 (AMP)
Church was never meant to be just about a building and filling it. Church is about people gathering, serving and being equipped so we can spread the kingdom of God.
That is the difference between a pew warmer and a team player. A pew warmer just goes to church to tick it of his/her to do list so the pastor does not phone afterwards to check on them. Pew warmers only receive and eventually become spiritual gluttons if they don’t start becoming what they hear in the teachings and exercise it out in good deeds of service.
Team members on the other hand are people eager to mature and grow closer to God as they serve the needs of others before their own. They are the true hands and feet of Jesus and they are not afraid to give their time and energy for the Kingdom of God.
Can you imagine a rugby team with all the players on the bench and only one guy trying to play? Well that picture you are seeing in your mind is exactly what it looks like in most churches today.
Here at Solid Rock Church of Miracles we aim to change that trend and equip our members to become Team Players, Volunteers in service not of our church, but of our King!
“45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Mark 10:45 (NLT)
If Jesus Himself, God in the flesh, did not consider serving people beneath Him, how much more should we as His servants be eager and willing to serve.
3 Benefits of Volunteering:
- You’re able to draw closer to God: When you spend time volunteering to help people, you actually draw closer to Him. You feel more connected to Jesus.
- You are making a difference in the Kingdom and other people’s lives: By volunteering, you are giving God and people your time, a valuable asset that does not come back once you spend it. Giving does not just have to do with finances. Time is the rarest commodity of all, so how much more does it mean to God when we give our time in service to Him?
- You grow personally: When you volunteer, you not only enrich the lives of others but also grow personally, both spiritually and socially. You learn more about the church and its ways and you also develop self-confidence and self-esteem as you interact with people.
So why not become a Team Player today! See the areas below where you can get involved.
The Hosting Team is responsible for making people feel at home at Solid Rock Church. This is from the parking lot, to the front door, to our visitors, to just making sure the church areas are neat and tidy for the services so everyone who comes feels at welcome.

Longing to be a people of His presence, this is one of the most important ministries in the church as it ushers in the presence of God and brings the people in the congregation into a moment to have an opportunity to encounter the raw and powerful presence of our most High God. This is a front-line ministry so there will be special requirements in order to join. Please note, the worship team is not just musicians and singers, but also the technical side like sound, lights, camera and the projectors.
To get more info and get involved, contact Pastor Juan via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or see him at church to arrange for an audition.
The Prayer Team is responsible for a very important aspect of the church. They are responsible for serving the people on a spiritual level and pray for them during our services as well as do hospital visits to go and pray for our congregation that might be in hospital. This is a very front line ministry so there will be some special requirements.

Children are the future generation of our church. The Warriors of Tomorrow. We place a very high value on raising our kids according to the Bible and equip them to become the future generation that will impact the world. Because we don’t trust our kids with anyone, you need to meet certain requirements to get involved.
To volunteer at our Kids Ministry contact Marinda van Wyk via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or see her at church.
Youth is the zeal and fire of our community. The Joshua generation. We strive to raise up a generation that will eat, sleep, drink, think and breathe Jesus. Wherever they go, they need to set the trend instead of the trend setting them. Rebels with a cause against the world system and culture of today. Also being a vital ministry and not an easy one, there will also be special requirements to become a part of the Youth Ministry leaders.
To get more info contact Pastor Juan via email at email@example.com or see him at church.

Coffee brings people together. There is nothing like good fellowship after our church service with a cup of java or some tea and biscuits. The coffee team makes this fellowship happen by serving the church with our coffee station, keeping it clean, refilling the coffee and tea and sugar.
To get involved with our Coffee Team, please contact Marlene via email at email@example.com or see her at the church.
